The Barnyard Burger Guy Fieri Calls ‘R-Rated for Ridiculous

In a recent episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, the ever-energetic Guy Fieri takes us on a culinary adventure to Boca Raton, Florida. Nestled in an industrial park, Guy finds himself at Barrel of Monks, a brewery with an exceptional food truck parked outside. This is no ordinary food truck; it’s Chefry Eats, run by the inventive chef Jeffrey Lemon, whose culinary creativity has been turning heads since 2016.

A Culinary Playground in an Industrial Park

Chefry Eats is the brainchild of Jeffrey Lemon, who has made a name for himself by serving up elevated bar food from a trailer. Jeffrey’s knack for combining flavors in unexpected ways is what makes his dishes so intriguing. Guy introduces the food truck by recounting Jeffrey’s relentless efforts to get featured on Triple D, joking, “He’s set on a mailing list to his fans, he’s written us, he’s put flyers up…well, he hasn’t done all that, but you know what is crazy? The food.”

  1. The Dry Rub: The journey begins with a unique dry rub made from mustard powder, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, coriander, allspice, smoked paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and instant coffee. Guy is fascinated by the inclusion of instant coffee, exclaiming, “Why does it look like cocoa powder? Because it is!”
  2. Marinated Chicken: The chicken is marinated in a mixture of dry rub, salt, pickle juice made in-house, hot sauce, and buttermilk. Jeffrey explains that the chicken should marinate overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Homemade BBQ Sauce: Jeffrey whips up a delectable BBQ sauce using apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire, molasses, Dijon, brown sugar, salt, liquid smoke, dry rub, ketchup, Chipotles in Adobo, and garlic. Guy takes a taste and declares it “delicious.”
  4. Bomb Sauce: This special sauce is made with the BBQ sauce base, garlic, bacon grease, honey, Dijon, Thai chili, and additional BBQ sauce. Guy can’t help but laugh and say, “That’s good,” after tasting it.
  5. Burger Patty: The burger itself consists of two pounds of ground Angus beef (80/20) mixed with an egg, pepper, and salt, grilled to perfection.
  6. Fried Chicken: The marinated chicken is dredged in a mixture of cornstarch and flour before being fried to crispy perfection.
  7. Assembly: The burger is then assembled with cheddar cheese, the fried chicken, more cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and topped generously with the bomb sauce. Guy looks at the final creation and exclaims, “Holy Barnyard!”

Guy’s Enthusiastic Review

Guy Fieri is visibly impressed by the Barnyard Burger, breaking out his signature “flavor hunch” to take a massive bite. He describes it as “flavor on flavor and then there’s some flavor,” adding that the Barnyard Burger is “R-rated for ridiculous.” The combination of juicy beef, crispy fried chicken, rich bomb sauce, and crispy bacon creates a symphony of flavors that leave Guy in awe. “The bomb sauce is rich, sweet with a little bit of tang; it’s just so messy but so delicious,” he concludes.
