Known for its Other, Byways Cafe in Portland, Oregon became a destination for food lovers after Guy Fieri pulled up for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Sadly, Byways Cafe has since permanently closed its doors.
The restaurant was featured in Season 1, Episode 9 — an episode called “Retro” that first aired in 2007.
Being featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is a major milestone for any restaurant. The show, hosted by Guy Fieri since 2007, has visited hundreds of restaurants across the country, shining a spotlight on the independent, owner-operated spots that define America’s food culture. For Byways Cafe, the DDD feature put Portland, Oregon on the culinary map for viewers across the nation.
Although Byways Cafe is no longer serving customers, its appearance on DDD remains a lasting tribute to the food and the people who made it special.
